Limitations

Limitations in testing design or data collection process:

Through the data collection process, there were many influential factors that could improve the reliability and accuracy of the results. Video accuracy may not have been reliable as only one side of the shooter was videoed. As basketball is a three-dimensional shot, there is potential rotation of the shoots body, thus could alter the angle measurements depending on the angle of shot. 

While using OnForm is a reliable source of data collection, the app asks for manual selection of joints. This opens the chance for human error while placing markers on these joints, thus will change the angles and how the data is recorded.  

By utilising one participant for this investigation allows for data to be collected, however limits the chance for comparison and reliability of results for other basketball shooters who are different heights, experience or techniques.  

Additionally, the data collection process did not look at shot success. This means that the data can show angular velocity however cannot see the effect the speed or angles have on performance.
